Thanks to a joint initiative by the Regional Development Agency and the Liberec Region, pilot testing of the Robica social robot is underway at two social service organisations in the Liberec Region – in Jablonec nad Nisou (Domov a Centrum denních služeb Jablonec nad Nisou, p. o.) and Turnov (Spolek SLUNCE VŠEM). As part of the testing phase through EDIH NEB (Test before invest service), the facilities received the technology free of charge for four months.

The Home and Day Care Centre in Jablonec nad Nisou has begun testing a unique robot called Robic. It is the first of its kind in Europe to be certified as a medical device. It helps clients with autism spectrum disorders, dementia and other mental or physical problems. The testing is taking place thanks to a joint initiative of the Regional Development Agency and the Liberec Region. The operation is funded by the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Northeast Bohemia project.
