On 25 February 2026, the TechCare 2026 conference took place in Liberec. The event was co-organized by the Regional Development Agency of the Liberec Region together with the Science and Technology Park of Palacký University Olomouc and other partners. The conference attracted nearly 280 physicians, healthcare managers, researchers, representatives of companies, and public administration bodies, who came together to discuss the future of healthcare and the opportunities offered by modern technologies in patient care.
The programme featured inspiring examples of the use of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, digitalization of hospital processes, and advanced imaging technologies. Experts shared practical experience from a wide range of fields – from pediatric oncology and cardiovascular disease prevention to the education and training of healthcare professionals through digital tools.
An important part of the conference was a series of roundtable discussions focused on the journey of healthcare innovations from the initial idea to real-world implementation. Topics included technology validation, regulation, financing, and the development of innovation consortia, which are essential for successfully connecting research institutions, healthcare providers, and technology companies.
For EDIH Northeast, TechCare represents an important platform for fulfilling its mission of supporting the digital transformation of organizations and fostering collaboration among experts across sectors. The strong interest shown by participants confirmed that the Czech healthcare sector is actively seeking ways to leverage innovation to improve both the quality of care and operational efficiency.
