Thanks to a joint initiative by Regional Development Agency, Liberec Region, EDIH Madrid region and Spanish company Inrobics pilot testing of the Robic, a unique AI-based social robot, is underway. This unique technology will be tested through EDIH NEB Test before invest service at two social service organisations in the Liberec Region – in Jablonec nad Nisou (Domov a Centrum denních služeb Jablonec nad Nisou, p. o.) and Turnov (Spolek SLUNCE VŠEM).
Robic, the only certified social robot with artificial intelligence in Europe designed specifically for therapeutic purposes, will thus help clients with autism, dementia or mental disabilities through exercises and interactive tasks for a period of four months. Among other things, it monitors the development of vocabulary, motor skills and concentration. The test results will provide important insights into the use of AI technologies in social services.
This unique pilot confirms that EDIH NEB services can have a direct and practical impact even in areas where innovation is not commonplace – and that modern technologies have a firm place in social care as well.
