Following successful pilot testing of smart pads for monitoring the positioning and vital functions of seniors, interdisciplinary cooperation among a technology start-up, social service providers and public administration continues. As part of follow-up activities, a professional internship took place at the Senecura SeniorCentrum Liberec facility, which enabled experts from various fields – social services, healthcare and technology – to share experiences and discuss the possibilities of effectively deploying modern monitoring solutions in everyday practice.
The Liberec Region supported the use of smart pads
We are pleased that, based on the positive results of the pilot operation and the follow-up internship, the Liberec Region purchased a total of 20 smart pads as part of the Smart Region project. The first devices have already been successfully deployed in a retirement home in Jindřichovice pod Smrkem, where the pads improve client supervision, increase safety and facilitate the work of staff.

The EDIH Northeast Bohemia project at the Regional Development Agency continues to support the development of smart solutions in the public sector, both as a technology facilitator and as an intermediary between innovators and social service providers. This case study and its positive development, which led to the Liberec Region purchasing smart pads, is an example of how digitisation through our project can specifically improve the care and quality of life of vulnerable groups of the population.
