On 4 June 2025, a foreign delegation composed of representatives of government institutions from Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova visited the research organisation VÚTS a.s. in Liberec. The visit took place as part of the third regional study trip organised under the auspices of the OECD and GIZ, focused on supporting the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the so-called Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries.
During the visit, foreign guests were introduced to VÚTS’s cutting-edge research and development activities in the fields of automation, smart manufacturing and the modernisation of traditional industries. The programme also included an introduction to the activities of our European Digital Innovation Hub, which operates on the premises of VÚTS. Representatives of EDIH Northeast Bohemia (EDIH NEB) presented a range of services that enable regional small and medium-sized enterprises to test advanced digital technologies, increase their digital skills and find suitable sources of funding for digital transformation.
The inclusion of EDIH NEB at the Liberec Regional Development Agency in the international study trip programme confirms the growing importance of the hub in supporting the digitalisation of businesses not only within the Czech Republic but also in a European context.
