What does digitalisation look like beyond marketing buzzwords and theoretical concepts? The answer was provided by the Behind the Curtain of Digitalisation conference, organised by the EDIH Northeast Bohemia consortium at the Regional Development Agency of the Liberec Region and held at the VRATISLAVICE 101010 Cultural Centre. The event brought together experts, business representatives, public institutions, and innovative organisations seeking practical ways to make more effective use of digital technologies. The conference focused on real-world experience, inspiration, and sharing examples of digital transformation in practice.
Participants had the opportunity to gain up-to-date insights into the development of artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic, the legal aspects of its implementation, and the growing demands of cybersecurity. Key speakers included the Czech Government’s AI Envoy Lukáš Kačena, AI and legal expert Petra Stupková, and ethical hacker Petr Váchal. The programme was complemented by case studies demonstrating how digital technologies are being successfully applied across various sectors, from industry and education to cultural institutions.
An important part of the conference was the panel discussion “Digital Transformation in Practice”, during which representatives of companies, research organisations, and public institutions shared their experiences with implementing innovation, overcoming challenges, and achieving tangible benefits through digitalisation. The discussion confirmed that successful transformation is not only about technology, but above all about people, strategy, and the willingness to change established ways of working.
The showcase area also attracted significant interest from visitors, who had the opportunity to explore presented technologies, engage with experts, and gain inspiration for their own projects. According to participants, the opportunity for informal networking, building new contacts, and exchanging experiences was among the most valuable aspects of the event. The conference demonstrated that regional companies and organisations are showing increasing interest in digitalisation and artificial intelligence and are actively seeking practical partners to help implement these innovations.
We would like to thank all speakers, partners, and participants for creating an inspiring atmosphere and for their active involvement throughout the event!
