Foundry transitions to data-driven operations

The collaboration between EDIH Northeast and Komerční slévárna Turnov continues successfully. Following the implementation of key digital modules of the manufacturing execution system (MES) in 2024, the company is now actively working with data from production and energy processes. The installation of measuring devices and their connection to the planning system has significantly improved the overview of operations and the efficiency of individual production phases. Managers use the newly generated reports to optimise operations and prepare targeted measures.

“The technology has met our expectations, now it’s up to us to get the most out of the available data,” says Pavel Světlík, director of Komerční slévárna Turnov. The company plans to expand its team with a specialist who will focus on data analysis and the development of internal processes. At this stage, the priority is to make maximum use of the tools already in place. In the future, there are plans to expand the existing cooperation with EDIH NEB at the Regional Development Agency to include other elements of digitalisation, such as predictive management and monitoring the causes of inefficiency.
