On 25 June 2025, representatives of EDIH Northeast took part in an inspiring visit to the partner digital innovation hub EDIH pro_digital in Cottbus (Germany). The delegation consisted of five colleagues from the Regional Development Agency and three representatives from the Technical University of Liberec.
The programme was rich, well prepared and offered practical and strategic insights into the functioning of the German EDIH as well as an excursion to the operations, including the new giant hall of the German train operator Deutsche Bahn:
- Tour of the model factory at the Technical University in Cottbus (Chair of Automation) – virtual tour
- Guided tour of Deutsche Bahn’s facilities in Cottbus
- Joint lunch and subsequent networking meeting with expert discussion
The whole day was devoted to exchanging experiences, sharing good practices and establishing contacts in the field of digitisation, automation and innovation support. The visit brought valuable insights and good ideas for joint projects.
Our German colleagues will return the visit at the end of the year. We look forward to welcoming them to Liberec and introducing them to the Regional Development Agency and Liberec partners of the EDIH NEB project and their digital technologies (Technical University of Liberec and VÚTS).
