The testbed of the Liberec Regional Development Agency called DIGITAL SLINGSHOT is an open demonstration and innovation space designed for small and medium-sized enterprises, including mid-cap companies, as well as public organisations. Its main objective is to enable interested parties to familiarise themselves with currently available digital technologies that are characterised by high added value, low acquisition and operating costs, and a wide range of applications across various sectors – from industrial production to smart building and infrastructure management in cities and municipalities.
Visitors to the testbed have the opportunity to see Internet of Things (IoT) applications in practice, which, thanks to their modularity and openness, can be easily adapted to the specific conditions of small businesses and public operations. These technologies include, for example, systems for energy consumption monitoring, predictive maintenance, production process optimisation, environmental monitoring and building automation. Many of these solutions are open to further development, testing and connection of additional devices, which significantly reduces the barrier to their implementation in real-world operations.
A test production line is available for industrial partners, on which IoT devices are deployed to demonstrate the possibilities of increasing production efficiency, automation and integration with other technologies. This line serves not only as a demonstration, but also as an open platform for testing proprietary solutions by companies that want to verify the functionality of their products in a real environment.
The testbed also includes consulting facilities for 3D printing technologies and so-called smart solutions for cities and municipalities. This area includes, for example, systems for public lighting management, air quality measurement, waste management, and smart parking.
